Default Wifi Amplifiers?

Has anyone used a wifi amplfier before? I have a DGL-4300 that love dearly but for my current set up, I am having some trouble getting signal as far as I want. I am looking at something like this: http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?inv...-2301A&cat=WLS.

They can help. But higher-gain antennas could be more effective. See

I guess I should have been a little more specific. I am wondering if anyone has anything to say about the build quality of specific amplifiers.
