Upload & Download combined speed

When I am downloading any content on my machine I can achieve the full bandwidth, about 4MB/s

But when I am transferring files from my computer to HD attached on rt-n66u my download speed drops to about 300KB/s

Is there any reason for that? Any advanced configuration could increase the performance when using the router to download and upload simultaneously?

Could be your disk being configured as a USB 1.1 device. Run the following command through telnet, and look for the "spd" value. It should be 480 for USB 2.0.
