Confused QNAP HD Station and Happy Get as HTPC?

Hi Guys,

I'm deciding to buy a NAS and I came across QNAP's HD Station and Happy Get. It seems to be a really cool idea to use a NAS as a HTPC. Also the Happy Get feature to download youtube videos to the NAS seems great too. Anyone have any feedback on the feature?

Here is a link with more info http://www.qnap.com/hdstation/us/

Synology and QNAP (see reviews here). They're media servers. You still need a media device to take ethernet in and put out HDMI. Some few high-end TVs have that built-in (DLNA).

thanks for the reply stevech. That's what I initially thought too, but it seems that their HD station can directly play back from the HDMI port to your TV. I looks like qnap is using XBMC.

We are going to be taking a look at QNAP's approach as we have for Thecus and ASUSTOR.

But not for a few weeks.
