Does any firmware allow a USB HDD to go on standby?

As the title says, I have a 2TB HDD on one of the USB ports, and just use it for the occasional backup. Is there a firmware version that will allow the Hdd to go into standby mode when it's not being used?

Asuswrt-Merlin will spin down drives during inactivity.
