DIR-825 dual band setup

I just purchased a DIR-825 router and went through the setup.

However, when I go to my devices such as picture frame, ps3, ... they only see the 2.4GHz band ... they do not see the 5GHz band at all.

Have I done something wrong? Am I missing a step? Do only certain devices see the 5GHz band?

Do only certain devices see the 5GHz band?
Yes. Only devices with dual-band or 5 GHz radios, which the products you mentioned don't have.
