Hello everyone,
I ' m newbies in this field, I mean "NAS". I had bought QNAP TS409 TurboPro. My configuration file was lost after I shut down NAS immediately. I 'd consult the support of QNAP and he asked me to install "ShowMyPc.com" on my computer that let him to recover my NAS back. However, I don't want to. ( I think it 's not safe) I want to know how to recover the configuration file back by myself. Can anyone tell me how to do it? I know that it's not appropiate to post this question over here, but I want to know.
Thanks for your kind attention or any suggestion.

I don't have a procedure for you. I would let QNAP help you.

Hello moto890,
It is easy for QNAP to give you the commands to recover the configuration file but the major problem is what cause the configure file lost. If we don't find out the reason, the configuration file may lost again very soon. That is why they asked for connecting to your NAS to check. I think ShowMyPC is safe for your data because you can see what QANP support are doing to your NAS. QNAP also provide msn (q.support@hotmail.com) and skype (qnapskype) support. You can chat with their support engineer and allow them to connect by showmypc and then you can close showmypc immediately after they solve your NAS problem.

Alan

My problem is fixed by QNAP support, especially thanks to Fan Chen from China. And thanks for help from Tim Higgins, Editor of this forum and Alan Huang, Qnap Support.
