Hi all,

I have been scouring the market of late trying in vain to find a wireless N, gigabit router that allows network administrators to control the amount each individual user on a home-LAN downloads from the internet.

Does such a device exist or am I wasting my time?

Thanks,

Mike

I've not seen that on store bought brands, closest you can come to that would be to built your own router using a *nix distro, and hanging a wireless N unit off of it. PFSense is a good distro, allows you to get quite granular in throttling some types of traffic, advanced traffic shaping/QoS, and some decent reporting of traffic, even deeper monitoring with a free add-on called BandwidthD.

Are you looking to throttle each user or set a max download limit/day (for example)?
