Will this router work as a direct replacement for the Actiontec or Westell units used by Verizon FIOS for Internet access? If so, what would be the benefits and/or problems. Not going with them for TV service and using Cat 5e cabling. Has anyone tried it yet?

Thanks.

The WNDR3700 is certainly fast enough. But it doesn't have built-in MoCA.

Do not need it - Internet access only. Using TWC TV for now. Might try the bridge if I switch though, but that's a question for another day.

You shouldn't need the bridge. As long as you have Ethernet for the WAN port, you're good to go to use the WNDR3700.
