Hello,

I was wondering if you had any plans to test out the router function of the new Vonage adapter?

I'm curious to see whether or not it can handle faster internet speeds on cable/FIOS. I currently have it behind my router, but would like to place it in front of the router to allow DMZ/QoS to function via the Vonage adapter and not my router since I'm not a guru of setting up QoS.

I know it has a 10/100 port for both the WAN and LAN side, but I'm curious in testing it's switching speed and couldn't locate it on the router charts.

Thank you.

What new adapter?

It's the new Vonage V-Portal adapter that is being made only by Vonage: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8658419&st=vonage&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1201913523791

Maybe I'm not searching for the right device, but I didn't see Vonage in the list...

Thank you.

Sorry, we won't be reviewing it. I'd be surprised if it will support FiOS speeds, however. Why don't you try it and report back?

I'll give it a go. What's the best thing to use? Speedtest.net?

It's a shame you're not reviewing it... I like your in-depth analysis of most of the nitty-gritty details that I usually would never find/know about!

You can use any service. You're just looking for a difference in speed with and without the adapter.
